March is speeding by and we are going to be ending our March Madness Fundraiser. We have received pledges for a little over $350, but we still have thousands to go to buy all the diapers and wipes we need for the Oradea Hospital! Sooo if you keep forgetting about joining in on this fundraiser (which is normally my problem) there is still time!!! your contributions do make a difference!
Let me give you two examples of happy endings that we sometimes see! If you remember, when I was in Romania last May, we had two very special children in the hospital. One was Baby F and she had severe cradle cap and skin condition that caused her to have a polka dotted torso. The hospital had resigned themselves to the fact that she would be sent to the Centru Orphanage for disabled children, even though she was functioning normally AND her parents had signed their rights away!
I pushed for a visit with the staff dermatologist and took Baby F. The dermatologist said that I could use the special cream I use for cradle cap but that the baby needed extra ointment as well. The hospital didn't carry it so nothing was to be done. I "offered" to pay for it so she wrote me a prescription that I could get filled elsewhere. She then proceeded to tell me that no foster family would want the burden of such a child! I contacted a friend who deals with foster care and between our creams removing the scabbing and my friend's hard work, Baby F is now in an adoptive home!
Our next child was Baby D. He has digestion issues and had some surgeries on his stomach. He had a large opening in his stomach and needed a urine bag for waste. However, the hospital did not have enough bags and had to reuse the same one several times increasing the risk of infection. The removal of the bag and retaping each time to his raw skin was a painful procedure, but Baby D always kept a cheerful dispostion! PHFTC was able to purchase extra bags from a pharmacy and the kind pharmacist donated some creams for the baby's stomach. He is now in a Christian, foster home and is hoping to get surgeries now to correct his problem.
This is the work that we do and I am so blessed to be a part of it and I want to thank you for the part that you do, as well!
Blessings,
Ramona

March Madness
Hello Friends,
My life now is very different from the 13 years ago when a quiet, naive girl boarded a plane for Romania. As I look back at all the changes that have happened in my world and in the country of Romania, I am in awe of the Master Plan that has led up to where we are now. Never would I have guessed that Project Hope would be a not for profit serving hundreds of babies and partnering with several foundations and hospitals! It is such a privilege and honor to be able to help in one small part of the world!
Most people shy away from the number 13, but I believe that this year needs to be celebrated ( as every year does)! So for the month of March we are doing a special fundraiser for the Oradea Hospital!! We are calling it March Madness! Much of what we provide and purchase in way of supplies is Diapers and Wipes! If you have children you all know the necessity and expense of these little items. However, when we have special donations to purchase the hundreds of packages that we use it does not seem near as daunting!

Please consider sending a donation to buy one of these:
1) 1 Package of diapers at $17
2) 2 packages of wipes at $3 or
3) A combination package of 1 package of diapers and 2 packages of wipes for $20.
~You can mail a check to PHFTC, Inc 6983 Chase Rd, Fabius,NY 13063 labeled March Madness or donate via our Pay Pal Button on our website. http://projecthopeforthechildren.blogspot.com/
I am planning on making my next trip in July, where I will spend two weeks working in the Oradea and Sibiu hospitals, reconnecting with the doctors and nurses, purchasing the year's supplies and hopefully adding a new hospital to our family. We have a hospital with social babies, a social worker and some eager volunteers! All we need is grace and cash! During the next few months, we will be researching the possibility of taking on this hospital and how that will look for our Ministry.
Remember to visit out Facebook page for updates and articles and share with your friends! https://www.facebook.com/phftc/?ref=hl

Hello Friends,
My time in Romania has been passing all too Quickly! I have in my head Written year update many times, but finding the time to get it down and sent has been Another thing. The travel Went smoothly excepting the moment at the Hungarian / Romanian border where are the guards realized that I had never been stamped into the EU! Neither France nor Hungary had made a note in my passport. The guard wanted to know how I had gotten into the country .. Hmm .. maybe beamed in. I presented my boarding passes, Which thankfully I had my driver and verified That Kept He had picked me up at the airport in Budapest. I Received a Romanian stamp and We Were on our way again!
I have been in the Hospital in Oradea Several times last week and found That We Were very low on children, Which is a good thing really. We had none for a while on Alina's ward the then one child Before we left for Sibiu. I met with the doctors on 7th floor, sat in on one of the ward's Premature lectures to medical students and doctors Went shopping for supplies.
I Located a reputable rental car company finally the Day Before We Were to leave for Sibiu and secured year Automatic car !! I was so thankful to have it as the steep and winding roads Were the drivers and the Jersey and NY drivers put to shame! The ride to Sibiu WAS Gorgeous! We drove through the Carpathian Mountains and awed by the beauty Were God created!
In Sibiu, We Were greeted with 22 children and spent Several hours feeding, changing and playing with Those children! We are now starting to supply the large preschool ward and Will begin to purchase diapers for Them soon. Upon Entering the ward, we found cleanliness, but sparseness. WAS A tv in the corner and I found one book and taped up the truck with missing parts. Those Were the only toys for children 2-6 years of age. In the other rooms in the same predictament Were babies and little ones rocking back in forth in Were effort to stumulate Themselves year. I tear up everytime I have seen this in the past twelve years. Politica simple thing to Provide for a child as our own toy boxes of can attest to, but Hardly on the top ten here. We Went right out and Purchased about $ 200 Worth of books and toys for the hospital. Weare Hoping That Will the nurses have the time to make sure the children each have the toys in bed with Them! Cornelia, our stock is doing a great job liaison distributing the supplies and we have great Faith That She Will see to the toys as well!
After a weekend of visiting castles and learning Some more about the history of Romania, Ali and I are now back in Oradea! We have three children and there is now on Premature on 7th March. Two Of Those children have been deemed to have year incurable Some sort of disability. No One Seems to know what, apart obviously do THEY That not get enough food or excercise. When That Happens State of can put the little ones in Orphanages THESE required Before the age of two. Needless to say, That after Several years there, THEY do have a disability and Will not Be Able to function as Normally Because of the neglect adult year. My heart heavy WAS yesterday as I listened to this and looked into the faces of These sweet boys! Please pray That Could Be A and S Placed in foster homes INSTEAD !!
We are finishing up our buying here today for our hospital and have a list from Romanian Relief for Their Needs in Their major foster and group homes Which is: food, diapers and clothes ... Sucha things really simple, but donating When it is down Makes it difficult to purchase. Thank you for supporting Project Hope That We Can so well so do all we do in Providing That the hospital for babies and supporting other ministries great! What you do is so important!
I try to post pictures on our Facebook page Almost daily so join us there and like us to see what we have up to! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Project-Hope-for-the-Children-Inc/ 146117805560061? __ nodl

Waiting for God
This is an excerpt from a message I gave recently and thought I would share it with you all!
Last year,
if you remember I talked about obeying God’s command no matter how insecure or
afraid you felt. I gave my testimony on how the Lord nudged me along every step
of the way in my journey to Romania, in setting up the Ministry afterwards and
even recently into becoming a Non Profit. And how looking back I can now see
the benefits and blessings of obedience, namely the adoption of my son!
Today, I
want to talk to you about something almost opposite of that~ resting in God’s timing and patience in knowing God’s
will! For those of you that know me well, you know I am not a patient
person! My husband could tell you that! Once my mind is made up or when I am
confident in a situation I like to execute with military precision! But
sometimes God asks us to sit quietly and watch for his signal.
My children are
riding the bus this year and I love to watch as they walk out to the end of the
driveway keeping their eyes on the bus driver. They halt when he signals them to
stop then proceed to cross and board the bus when he has given them the ok.
Even Andrew waits patiently. I watch proudly at this morning routine before the
question asks, “Do you do get the ok from God before making decisions?” Sadly
the answer is no sometimes.
I Cor. 612 “You
say, “I am allowed to do anything”- but not everything is good for you. And
even though “I am allowed to do anything,” I must not become a slave to
anything. And I Cor. 10:23 You say, “I am allowed to do anything”- but not everything is
good for you. You say,”I am allowed to do anything”- but not everything is
beneficial. Don’t be concerned for your own good but for the good of others.
Within PHFTC there are so many areas we could
get involved in and so many needs and I want to help them all! This year we are
more organized, have a better giving base and more opportunities than ever. And
I find myself straining at the leash to do it all right now! But if I were to
do it all now there could be repercussions in other areas. My Children, our
foster parenting, Jack’s and my relationship, maybe a relationship with a
friend… You know what I mean. We are all pulled in so many directions for “good”
causes.
My mother
always quoted Romans 12:1,2 to me. “And so dear brothers
and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done
for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice- the kind he will find
acceptable. This is truly the way to worship Him. Don’t copy the behaviors and
customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing
the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is
good and pleasing and perfect.
Good, acceptable/pleasing and perfect… some of
my decisions might be good, some acceptable, but is the decision all three? I
will only know that if I am watching the Lord and waiting for his guidance. So
my challenge for you is this: Examine your life. Not only is it best to heed
the Lord’s prompting in obedience to something but it is also wise to wait for
Him to tell you when and where to go. Jeremiah 29:11 “For
I know the plans I have for you”, declares the Lord, “plans
to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
So please
pray for The Board and I as we make decisions this year that we would listen to
God and be in His perfect will!
Twelve Years
Twelve years ago I stepped off my first plane flight into Hungary and drove across the border into Romania! I was so young and innocent back then, but was eager to do my part in showing God's love to unwanted children. What a ride it has been since! There have been many humbling, learning experiences a long the way and things have occured that I never imagined!
In a month, I will be flying back to Romania for two weeks! Alina and I will purchase supplies for the Oradea hospital and the Sibiu hospital. If we get in enough funds this year we will attempt to add the preshool section in Sibiu. It will cost us about $2,000 more to completely fund the Sibiu hospital for a total of $6,000 spent on supplies. The Oradea hospital ranges between $6,000-$7,000 a year. We also try to help some of the other foundations there. We are almost on budget so please keep us in your thoughts and prayers to bring in $2,000 more in the next month!
Thank you for all your help and support!
