Giving Tuesday

For Giving Tuesday, please consider making a donation to PHFTC to aid us in supplying much needed baby supplies to hospitals, providing salaries to our staff in the hospitals and supporting the foundations we partner with in their grass roots efforts to fight poverty and child abandonment. Even a $10 or 40 RON donation can make a donation in a child's life! I've seem it happen! http://www.projecthopeforthechildren.org/support.html

Autumn Update

Happy Autumn to you All!

This summer was a busy one for my family as we had my Romanian daughter stay with us for three months! There were many challenges and many adventures and some tears as I put her on the plane earlier this month so she could return to Romania and finish school, but what a blessing to have here here!

Meanwhile, we have had some exciting changes in Romania! We were granted permission from our Sibiu hospital to put the very first Maternal Assistant in the wards to love, snuggle and care for the social babies there! We are thrilled and have hired, Dora, our Nurse Liaison's daughter to go in part time. Alina went to Sibiu to train Dora earlier this month. She has now been working several weeks and is doing a fantastic job!

We also have received verbal permission to bring over a small team of women to rock the babies sometime. This has long been a dream of mine (and some of you) to take a team over. We are still awaiting the final decision in writing so please pray that it goes through.

Alina has taken on some more responsibilities for our Ministry and with the poor economy in Romania, our Board has decided to raise her salary. Alina is a diligent, honest and caring Maternal Assistant and Supervisor and without her PHFTC would not be reaching as many babies and foundations as we do! Currently, she receives money for her Social Security and Health Insurance and $400 a month. We  raised her salary by $100 more and are looking for additional Sponsors to increase her salary by yet another $100. This would give her a total of $600 a month plus her SS and insurance. If anyone is interested in becoming a monthly sponsor for Alina's salary, please contact me directly.

November is almost here and we are expanding our Christmas Sock Fundraisers, where individuals and families fill a baby sock with loose change, bills or checks. If your church or organization, wishes to participate please let me know!

We also have a new shipment of Joy Beadz just in time for Hostess and Christmas gifts! New colors and some of the older smaller styles,as well. I'll be posting pictures on Facebook and Instagram so let me know if you are interested in purchasing any.

Lastly, I am so relieved to announce that PayPal has fixed their Recurring Donate Button on our website so once again you can set up your automatic payments! I apologize for this inconvenience while PayPal worked through their issues. Thank you all for your support whatever way you choose to help!
Many Blessings to you all!

RO Trip update

  Dear Friends,

I returned from my trip to Romania five days ago and wanted to fill you in before any more time went by! This trip went very well in comparison to other years and I am so blessed by it! I was able to visit the hospitals in Sibiu and Oradea, purchase supplies for three grassroots foundations, visit with many friends in Ministry there and see my two special children! It was a busy two weeks with rainy, cold weather, a small bout of ill health and shocking decree from the Oradea Hospital, but through it all I could see the Lord moving and accomplishing His will.

In my church presentations this year I spoke on the passage the Lord had given me from Ps. 37:3-7 (NLT) which says:
Trust in the Lord and do good.
Then you will live safely in the land and prosper.
Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you your heart’s desires.
Commit everything you do to the Lord.
Trust him, and he will help you.
He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn,
and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun.
Be still in the presence of the Lord,
and wait patiently for him to act.
Don’t worry about evil people who prosper
or fret about their wicked schemes.

I spoke about how whether in this Ministry or in our personal lives, if we follow the outline in these verses, we would be blessed. Little did I know how they would comfort me during my visit. The second day of being in the hospital in Oradea, a doctor entered the rooms where we work and demanded to know why I was holding a baby in my arms. I explained who I was and that I had papers saying I could be there, The doctor became irate and ordered me to put the baby back in bed. I complied while Alina explained that I had a signed note from the Director saying that I could work in the hospital during my stay. The doctor stated that she didn't care; that no foreigner could hold the babies. She did calm down however, and told me that I might stay but could not touch the babies at all. I was devastated as I had never had any issues before even when other foundations had. I went home and prayed earnestly and read these Scriptures again and was given peace.
He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn,
and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun.

I then heard stories of other directors that had been ordered to leave the hospital and not allowed to hold the babies either. The following day, I was told that if I wanted I could visit for 10 minutes at a time to confer with our employee and if I wanted to work with the children next time, I could send in a doctor's note of my vaccinations, a list of classes and credentials I have in child care and if approved I would have to give a stool sample to prove I am not carrying any diseases. While this means more hoops to jump through, I was pleased that they organized some sort of policy and are giving me a chance, when others were not offered one. Please pray that my paperwork will be approved and I can once again do what I so love!

On a good note, our hospital in Sibiu has approved us to place a worker in the wards to hold, play and care for the babies and preschoolers there! I am overjoyed at this news. We now need to find a special person who will properly care for the children and properly represent PHFTC in that hospital.

Our other exciting news is that we are one step closer to being allowed to bring a team of women into that hospital to hold babies! We are awaiting the official endorsement, so please pray that we will be allowed to do this if it is God's will!

I have more news on what we were able to do for the foundations that we support near Oradea, but that will have to wait for another time! Thank you for your continued support and interest! And remember if you want to partner with us on a monthly basis, it is not to late to do it.

Many Blessings,

Mona

March Madness Update

Hello Friends,

It is quiet in the house this afternoon, a rarity it seems and I am tempted to take a nap (also a rarity), but I didn't want to let too much time go by before I updated you on the March Madness Fundraiser results. We had several people join us as monthly donors and we added $240 extra a month, bringing our monthly donations to $626.33. Having a consistent amount of money is fantastic for any ministry and we so appreciate all you do!!

I am leaving May 3rd for Romania and will be there for two weeks. This year, I am traveling alone and have a full schedule planned already! I will be working at the two hospitals, of course, holding the babies and doing whatever our employee, Alina lets me do. LOL!  I will be purchasing supplies for the hospitals as well as, connecting with the multiple directors of the foundations we help; finding out what their needs are and purchasing them. A stop to see the women who make the JoyBeadz is also a must!

I am also hoping to go into one of the city's orphanages with a friend this year to see how the children are living there and to talk with the kids. The new after school daycare project we have been helping with should be close to opening and I have purchased several educational wall clings to decorate the building with. We are very excited about this new project starting and the impact it could have on these tender Roma children being raised in abject poverty.

We still need donations so if you are interested in giving a one time gift of any amount, it will be put to good use! Above all else, please keep us in your prayers specifically for traveling safety and strength for myself and protection and peace at home for my family.

Many Blessings,

Mona

March Madness 2

The Latest at PHFTC

Just a reminder that our March Madness Campaign has started! IF you didn't read the last update, here's a recap! With our fundraising season upon us and with me preparing to leave for Romania in 54 days (but whose counting), we raise the bulk of our money for the purchasing I do while there, now! While I am there, I purchase almost all of our Oradea Hospital supplies, a quarter of our Sibiu Hospital supplies and contact each Foundation Director that we collaborate with and purchase their greatest needs.

However, there are other expenses and purchasing and requests throughout the year and it has become needful to find monthly financial partners. This will allow us to budget better and to serve other foundations more freely. So we have created this March Madness fundraiser around that need!

We are looking for two groups of monthly givers:

#1 The Sweet Sixteens: This group will make a pledge of $15-$35 a month

#2 The Elite Eight:  This group will make a pledge of $40 or more a month

** and if you want to do smaller amounts that is welcome too

Simply shoot me an email or message with your name and which team you are choosing. If you want our bank information for an automatic transfer, we can help with that or we can discuss other modes. I will be updating you all on the STATS every few days both here, the website and Facebook.

And lastly, that brings me to another point! We have our new website published! It is still is being adjusted, but I'm so excited to share it with you! Please check it out and let me know what you think!  http://www.projecthopeforthechildren.org/

March Madness

The Latest at PHFTC

Hello Friends,

In two short months, I will be back in Romania for my annual oversight trip; this is where I do the bulk of the supply purchasing, visit with the Hospital's doctors and nurses, and reconnect with our small staff and other Foundation Directors. It is so very hard to wait a year to be back where why heart calls home, so you can imagine the anticipation I am living under right now!

This is also the busiest time of year for me as we do the bulk of our fundraising prior to the trip! I love sharing God's goodness throughout the year to the Ministry and what He has taught me AND I love seeing your familiar faces! So please pray for my family and me over the next couple of hectic months.

This season also brings us to one of our favorite fundraisers of the year~ March Madness! This has been a popular fundraiser in the past so I encourage you to commit again or join in this year! For the whole Month of March we are going to be looking for people to pledge to a monthly donation. Having monthly donors who support PHFTC is becoming more important as we grow and makes it so much easier to budget. Will you consider joining us?

#1 The Sweet Sixteens: This group will make a pledge of $15-$35 a month

#2 The Elite Eight:  This group will make a pledge of $40 or more a month

2017 Book Fundraiser

HI All!

I have an exciting announcement! Our first Fundraiser for 2017 just started! It is an online book fundraiser hosted by Rebecca from Barefoot Books for children. She is generously donating her entire commission of 30% of the sales to PHFTC!

If you are thinking ahead to birthdays, Easter or any other special time in your family, this is a great way to find unique books and support this Ministry! I leave for my annual trip to Romania so we need at least $10,000 to come in over the next 3 months!

Please take a moment to visit our Facebooksite                                             https://www.facebook.com/events/1095432443899887/ or go directly to the shopping link of our party http://bit.do/projecthope

Your support is such a blessing to us! Please, remember that as PHFTC expands to meet the growing needs of our hospitals in Romania and many foundations we collaborate with, that we need more donations. Consider sharing our ministry with two or three of your friends that you think might be interested in the type of foundation we are and the hurting people we help!

Thank-you and be blessed today!

Mona

2017 Update

The Latest at PHFTC

Hello Friends!

I wanted to send a brief update of what we at PHFTC were doing as we gear up for 2017, but before I do that I wanted to remind you to send your thoughts and prayers, (no matter your political convictions) up for the refugees- the people- who are being detained. The emotional trauma and physical discomfort that most of these people, many of them children, have gone through in the past months and years is more than we will go through in a lifetime. The abruptness of the recent order to stop their progress here has caused much pain and we can all be compassionate for the human hearts breaking now in these families while this is sorted. My heart cries for the confusion the young children have endured in their short lives.

This year, PHFTC will be making a slight change in our presentations. While Romania is our primary country and will continue to be our primary work, we want to be ready for other opportunities that come to us! As many of you know, our ministry is unique in that it partners with many other vetted NGO's by donating supplies to their projects. Because my base is here in the States and our Employee works primarily in the Oradea Hospital,we have found it to be a very productive way to help others. The goal is always the same- caring for orphans and needy families! This we do very successfully, whether it is supplying medicine, food, formula, diapers, wipes or supplies for after school programs for needy children!

When you donate this year, your money will go into the General Fund, as usual and will be used for whatever PHFTC needs or for the special projects we supply. The only difference is if we partner to help an orphanage in India or a refugee camp in Greece. This has always been my goal for the ministry to help anywhere there is a need!

If you want your donation specifically used for only a Romanian project, please note it on the donation and we will gladly designate it for only that! Again, this is really no different from what we have always done, but as the ministry grows and expands, we are eagerly looking forward to helping as many families and children here and abroad as we can in Jesus' name!

We will have much news in the coming weeks of the unveiling of our new website and Spring fundraising! Thank-you as always for your interest and support! If you are finding that you are not always receiving these emails, please contact me at caring@projecthopeforthechildren.org  so we can work on correcting it!

Blessings,

Mona
